"Not Visceral Enough" -- Please allow me to retort... ;)

I had an email come through from a fan of the Exmortis series the other day, commenting about how amazing the screenshots have looked thus far - however there was a cause for concern that the 3rd game was coming across as light on the visceral "no holds barred" approach to horror that made the original game a tear away.

Well my friends, hopefully this screenshot (lifted directly from the commercial version of Exmortis 3) will illustrate that a little bit of spit & polish doesn't mean I'm going soft on you guys where the gore factor is concerned...

Expect a few punches below the belt, is all I can suggest...

My only complaint is that it wont end up on newgrounds :'(

Complain no more... The free version of Exmortis will indeed appear at Newgrounds... The commercial version of the game will be available for purchase from Fizzy.com upon release in a few months time...

I would expect nothing less of your work. The more visceral and gory the better. Keep em comin!

Hmm. Very nice. I intend to purchase the commercial version, of course, but I have a question: could you perhaps just release a few more details on the differences between the two versions? I mean, will the free one be like a demo of some kind or will the commercial one have features not seen in the free one?

    Looking forward to it :)

Very nice! I shall certainly be getting the comercial version if this is the quality we can expect from it.
I had one question though, if you aren't too busy to answer:
What will the differences be? You said the commercial version would be a little more open? I was just wondering about that. Will the free version be like, a demo or a shorter one?

    Looking forward to it

I'll be publishing a confirmed list of commercial version vs free version comparisons closer to the release date once the game has gone to our beta testers...

At this stage the commercial version will have extra chapters (making the game twice as long), story sub-plots, mini-games, multiple endings (instead of just one) high quality uncompressed graphics/sound, full speech & voice acting, extra inventory items and a few funky extra features which I'm keeping under wraps until release...

Purchase of the game will be conducted through the awesome games portal over at www.fizzy.com.

There you'll be able to either purchase the game or subscribe to the VIP service which will give you access to all the other premium titles as well.

I'm still a bit confused. How can you play the game after you buy it? Will we be given a code or something that we use on a site to download it, similar to Xbox Live?

There will be two versions of Exmortis 3 available... the freeware version and the commercial version.

On sites like Newgrounds, Kongregate etc. I will be posting the free-to-play version of the game. It will be an internet only game in the same way most flash games are.

The commercial version of Exmortis 3 will only be available to play and purchase through Fizzy.com

You will be given the choice of either playing live on the web via the Fizzy VIP subscription service, or you will be able to play it as a individually purchased download game that will allow you to install it to your local PC and access it at any time...

Specific details on the process will be given closer to release, however in the meantime I hope this has helped shine light on the plans at hand.

These are very impressive screen shots! E3 looks much more mature in a visual sense than the previous two. Well done! I think I just may have to buy this one! Will there be any special requirements for running this game in non-flash form?

The drop shadow filter used in the scene takes away some of the realism...
