Just a quick note to say that due to abuse of the comments sections of this blog, I've now made it compulsory for users to be registered with this service in order to leave a comment. Apologies about the restrictions being brought in, but you guys can all thank 2 or 3 specific idiots for forcing my hand on this.
I wouldn't normally care, but I run a business and the Exmortis series (as well as the associated resources) are used as part of our skillset portfolio. Childish comments in a development blog don't usually bode well when attempting to secure potential new clients...
On a positive note, I have had a chance to dedicate a couple of days worth of work to Ex3 this past week, and as a result of fiddling around with a few add-on apps, I've actually stumbled across a methodology of combining certain flash and swift3D elements to create some awesome special effects that I didn't think was possible in a .swf file...
I've also spent a very painful 5 hour stint resequencing and aligning the work I've accomplished so far on this title to a new 20 frame per second rate - up from 12 frames per second.
Reason for this? I originally started this project with the intent to present a 12 frame per second title which in theory would have allowed precise synchronisation of audio streams and animations in the Internet Explorer environment. Unfortunately the frame rate really chopped up the fluidity of certain sequences and detracted away from the vibe of the scene - so I decided to bite the bullet for the sake of the overall product.
Can I just say - LONGEST AND MOST FRUSTRATING 5-HOURS OF MY LIFE!
But it's done and it was well worth the effort! I've sequenced and optimised Lucian's dialogue and everytime I revisit the work that has been done, I can't help but smirk... :) You guys are going to love it!

So you're almost done, right?
Mr. Leffler,
I just wanted to say thank you for continuing the series.
I first found your game emortis on new grounds when my son showed me the site (not that he really had any business being at the site at his age) and I was hooked. We love adventure/point and click horror themed games and this one was just great. Keep up the good work.
And putting a restriction on the comments was a very good idea.
It really bothered me to come read the degrading and immature comments posted by other users. And it can greatly effect potential clientel as well.
Keep up the great work!
Waiting patiently in Illinois,
Reigh
Ahem... So.. How much have you made this far? 75%? 85%? Damn, I'm thrilled to see the finale!
24 hours ago - approx 60% done... as of 12 hours ago 0%...
As of last night, my notebook was stolen. 5 years worth of work - gone... I am absolutely gutted... can't talk right now, but I am seriously ready to just curl up in to a ball in the corner of the room...
OH MY GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY!?!?!?! this is proof against any kind of kind and loving god. my eyes are actually tearing up those bastards should be destroyed. im going to go and cry now T.T i have no idea if that is the right emote thingy
Yeah,uh don't yell at me,just..try to keep focused, and just keep trying. One thing, can you get the files from other Exmortis copies on other sites?
Dear Mr. Leffer,
I feel rather silly posting on this possibly dead thread, but I thought that I better post it on something on Exmortis...
I just recently played Exmortis 2. When I first clicked on the link, I was expecting a very cheesy storyline with horrible graphics. I thought that I was just wasting my time, but I decided to try it anyways... And I'm glad I did.
The graphics were great; I could definetely tell that you took time to make sure it was perfect. But, what truly got me was the storyline.
I'm an aspiring writer, and I always look for storylines that could inspire me to push forward with the thoughts 'If I keep going, then I can have a story just like this.' And, I'm happy to say that you mad my top 10 list of best stories.
Like Mr. Reigh said, I'm also dissapointed in the immature comments. They have no room any where. I'm glad you don't let them get to you. You have something you can really be proud of here.
I'll be patiently waiting for Exmortis 3. You've made a fan of me!
Keep going!
